Neighborhoods with Meaning

Each Green House is meticulously designed to be a "Home by Name and Nature," where every material, color, and texture is chosen to reflect a deep sense of comfort, dignity, and belonging.

Our naming program offers a unique opportunity to weave your own legacy into the fabric of these spaces, aligning donor passions with the specific symbolism and spirit of each neighborhood.

Whether it is the stability and wisdom of Beech House for legacy families , the healing and renewal of Cedar House for medical partners , the connection and unity of Elm House for civic groups , the endurance of Oak House for corporate sponsors , or the restorative growth of Eden House for wellness supporters , your gift ensures that these environments enrich the daily lives of our senior residents in a personal and enduring way.

The House – In Honor of  [Individual or Family Name]” with engraved plaque and photograph

Each future Green House home carries the name of a tree. Trees are woven through the biblical narrative as part of creation and symbols of wisdom, shelter, life and covenant. In the natural world, they stand as tokens of memory, resilience, and hope. These five homes take their names from trees not as decoration, but as declaration: that the natural world has something to teach us about life at its most vital.

Beech House – built from enduring roots

The beech reminds us that real stability comes from below the surface — from roots that anchor, nourish, and hold fast throughout every season. The finishes selected for Beech. House — calming blue-grey accents, warm wood cabinetry, a neutral palette, and ahearth wrapped in natural stone — all echo its themes of stability and wisdom.

Cedar House – shaped by healing and renewal

Across cultures, the cedar and its fragrance have long been a symbol of healing. The finishes for Cedar House – rich accent tones, warm wood finishes, and a hearth surrounded in natural stone – mirror the restorative character of its namesake.

Elm House – where everyone belongs

Across New England, the majestic elm tree has long stood at the heart of villages and town greens. Its form teaches us that strength grows when we grow together. The finishes for Elm House echo the vitality of a gathering place: soft greens, natural materials and earth-toned accents create a setting where conversation and companionship feel natural.

Oak House – rooted in strength and endurance

In the natural world, the oak’s trunk is steady, its branches expansive, its lifespan measured not in years but in generations, suggesting unshakeable resilience. The finishes for Oak House draw on deep natural hues, warm woods, and a stone hearth that serves as the emotional center of the home. The materials feel substantial and enduring: crafted to evoke security and confidence.

Eden House – a place for new beginnings

Eden suggests a garden where life and hope take root, and where growth unfolds gently. Eden House carries this spirit as a home for those who are rebuilding strength, recovering abilities, and rediscovering possibilities. The envisioned finishes reflect the gentle optimism: light filled spaces, uplifting accents, warm natural materials, and a hearth representing a steady center for those on a journey of recovery.

Igniting the Spirit of Home and Connection

Donors aren’t just building rooms; they are shaping a future where aging is met with honor and compassion. The Hearth Room serves as the emotional centerpiece of the Green House model—a sanctuary of warmth designed for conversation, reflection, and meaningful connection.

By supporting this vital space, donors transform a physical area into the true heart of the home, featuring custom finishes, artisanal furnishings, and curated artwork that celebrate the unique spirit of each neighborhood. Your contribution ensures that every resident has a place to gather by the fire, creating a living legacy of community and comfort where stories are shared and memories are made.

Hearth Room

$500,000

Fireplace mantle engraving or optional photograph.

There exists a rare opportunity to sponsor one of only five hearths—one for each of our distinct neighborhoods: Beech, Cedar, Elm, Oak, and Eden. By choosing to name a specific hearth, you are doing more than funding a fireplace; you are anchoring the identity of an entire home.

These gifts allow us to curate neighborhood-specific finishes and architectural details that turn a common area into a personalized sanctuary. This investment goes beyond aesthetics, providing a permanent beacon of warmth that facilitates the "Green House" philosophy of small-group intimacy and spontaneous connection. Your name will be forever linked to the very spot where birthdays are celebrated, stories are told, and our residents find their greatest sense of peace and belonging.

Bridging Community and Privacy

In a Green House community, the residential wings and corridors are intentionally designed to eliminate the long, cold, and anonymous hallways of a traditional nursing home. These spaces are reimagined as private residential neighborhoods, where every threshold represents a transition from the vibrant communal "hearth" to the quiet sanctuary of the bedroom.

By donating to a residential wing, you are supporting a "de-institutionalized" architectural philosophy that prioritizes peace, privacy, and ease of navigation. These corridors feature soft, domestic lighting, tactile handrails integrated into warm wood wainscoting, and personalized "memory boxes" at each doorway, ensuring that residents feel they are walking through their own home rather than a clinical facility

Residential Wing

$250,000

Corridor naming and framed recognition.

Your financial gift toward these corridors makes the vital difference between a functional hallway and a dignified transition space. Support at this level allows for the installation of high-quality finishes—such as acoustic-dampening flooring that reduces disruptive noise and ergonomic handrails that blend seamlessly into the residential aesthetic. By sponsoring a wing or corridor, you are providing the literal and figurative "pathway to home," ensuring that the journey from the social heart of the house to the privacy of a resident's suite is one of comfort, beauty, and safety.

Where Nature Meets Home

In a Green House Community, the courtyard is an essential "outdoor room" that bridges the gap between clinical safety and the freedom of the natural world. Unlike traditional facilities where outdoor access is often restricted or institutional, these courtyards are private, secure sanctuaries directly accessible from the hearth and kitchen.

They provide residents with the vital autonomy to step outside at will to feel the sun, listen to the birds, or tend to a garden—simple joys that are fundamental to mental health and physical well-being. By donating to these green spaces, you are funding more than landscaping; you are providing a restorative environment that reduces anxiety, encourages physical movement, and offers a dignified setting for families to gather in the fresh air.

Courtyard Gift

$100,000

Area naming with dedication plaque.

Your donation transforms these courtyards into immersive, sensory-rich landscapes that honor the specific identity of each home. A courtyard gift allows us to incorporate high-impact elements like raised sensory gardens, accessible walking paths, and comfortable outdoor furnishings that reflect the neighborhood's theme, such as the healing greenery of Cedar House or the vibrant growth of Eden House. Your contribution ensures that these spaces remain lush, safe, and inviting year-round, turning a patch of ground into a living classroom of nature and a permanent tribute to the restorative power of your generosity.

Cultivating the Heart of the Home

In a Green House, the kitchen is far more than a place for meal preparation; it is the vibrant center of daily life where residents and caregivers gather to share food, stories, and connection. We are offering a rare opportunity to sponsor one of our five neighborhood kitchens, allowing you to help craft a space that feels truly personal.

Through your support, we collaborate with designers to develop custom material palettes—from artisanal cabinetry and countertops to warm lighting and flooring—that reflect the unique personality of each home. By sponsoring a kitchen, you aren’t just providing appliances; you are creating a high-impact sanctuary of nourishment and dignity, ensuring that the simple act of sharing a meal happens in a space defined by warmth, texture, and a profound sense of home.

Kitchen Space or Dining Area

$25,000

Table inscription or display feature.

In a Green House, the kitchen and dining area represents a departure from traditional, institutional elder care, to serving as the soulful "heart of the home" where life actually happens. Unlike traditional facilities where meals are prepared in distant, industrial kitchens and delivered on trays, our open-concept kitchens invite the comforting aromas of brewing coffee and baking bread to fill the air—vital sensory experiences that stimulate appetite and memory. At the center of this space sits a single, communal "convivium" where residents, families, and caregivers sit together as equals, dissolving the clinical barriers of the past to foster a genuine sense of family, autonomy, and belonging.

Your financial gift transforms these essential spaces from functional rooms into personalized sanctuaries of nourishment and dignity. Your gift enhances the environment that honors their past and enriches their daily life, proving that true care is served with both warmth and respect.

A Tribute to Growth and Care

An engraved stone sponsorship within the Green House gardens offers a unique opportunity to ground your legacy in the physical landscape of our community. In a traditional care setting, outdoor spaces are often an afterthought; however, in a Green House, the garden is a vital extension of the home designed to promote sensory engagement and peace.

By sponsoring an engraved stone, you are providing a permanent marker of your commitment to the well-being of our elders. These stones serve as more than just a decorative feature—they are part of a restorative environment where residents can safely enjoy the beauty of nature, find a quiet place for reflection, or walk along a path that feels intentionally crafted and cared for.

Garden Space

$5,000

Engraved stone.

Beyond the aesthetic value, your financial gift provides the resources necessary to maintain a high-impact, accessible landscape that changes with the seasons. Your contribution allows us to curate specialized greenery, seasonal blooms, and tactile elements that specifically benefit residents with cognitive or physical challenges. An engraved stone is a timeless tribute that will be seen by residents, families, and staff for decades to come, serving as a lasting reminder that this sanctuary was built through the strength and compassion of our community.

Rooted in Generosity, Growing Together

The Tree of Life stands as the centerpiece of gratitude within the Vernon Green House campus—a sculpted, laser-cut metal masterpiece that serves as a living tribute to the spirit of our community. Just as every part of a tree works together to sustain life, this installation symbolizes the collective strength of the individuals, families, and organizations whose contributions allow our vision of dignity and independence to take root and flourish.

The Tree of Life invites every supporter to become a permanent part of our shared legacy. As new engraved leaves are added and illuminated by warm ambient lighting, the display will evolve over time, reflecting an enduring story of hope and the vital role every donor plays in growing a home where connection truly thrives.

The Community Honor Roll

Every gift is a seed planted for the future of our elders. Contributors in this circle are recognized within our Digital Donor Gallery, a permanent online tribute celebrating the collective generosity of the friends and neighbors who make the Green House Community possible.

Gifts at the foundational level are the lifeblood of a community-driven project, representing the collective belief that every individual has a role to play in transforming elder care. While larger gifts may fund specific rooms, these contributions provide the vital "momentum of many," ensuring the project remains a true reflection of the neighborhood's spirit.

Roll Call Donors
