Each private room will be fully furnished for comfort and safety, but residents are encouraged to bring small personal items—such as photos, artwork, or a favorite chair—to make the space feel like home.
Meals are served family-style in each household’s country kitchen. Residents may join others at mealtimes or enjoy flexible dining based on their own daily routines.
No. Each Green House home includes its own kitchen and dining area shared by 10–12
Yes, within reason. The open kitchen allows residents to participate in meal preparation or cooking activities if they wish, always with staff support for safety.
Family and friends are welcome. Each Green House home has comfortable common spaces and visiting areas. Overnight stays can often be arranged with staff approval to ensure availability and privacy for all residents.
Yes, pets bring joy and companionship. Household pets are part of the Green House philosophy, and personal pets may be considered when compatible with the home’s environment and other residents.
Residents may enjoy wine or other beverages responsibly, consistent with personal health plans and household guidelines.
The current 60-bed nursing facility, built in 1966 and expanded through 1985, has reached the end of its useful life. It will be replaced with a new, three-story Green House model nursing home constructed on the same campus.
Yes, after residents move into the new Green House homes. Care and operations will continue seamlessly throughout the transition so that no resident is displaced.
All current and future residents will be cared for at the new Green House community on the same property in Vernon. The project maintains the same 60 licensed skilled nursing beds approved by the State.
Traffic impacts are expected to be minimal. The new building replaces an existing facility on the same site and does not significantly change daily traffic patterns.
Emergency visits are rare and comparable to current levels. The design and site layout minimize disruption to neighbors.
